I am officially a fulltime fda fashion student! I enrolled last week, so I am officially a bum as people like to refer to us students with the "easy life". I know some aspects of our life we have definitely got easy, but after lessons in construction and pattern cutting, I know I havent signed up for anything easy! Its going to be bloody hard work! Which I knew anyway, but its been really interesting, learnt lots of new things. We got our welcolme packs, its great! i know how to use a patternmaster now! They always looked so confusing! The books we got are a great idea! No organisation skills needed! Its all there! I'm quite bad for remembering where I put things, so not getting any handouts is perfect! I must admit im not the most organised person but im going to try! I really just want to put all ive got into this, but im just really looking forward to getting a move on with it, I just want to get stuck in and get going with the work now, its been 2 weeks, and my blog has just been set up, but so far we have had induction week, which wasn't too thrilling, it just seemed to drag . I found everyone was quite shy and quiet, which i find quite hard to deal with because im not a quiet person, and im used to all my loud friends. People got a bit better after that though, everyone seems to be coming out of their shell a bit more now, and its nice meeting new people. The trip to studland, as stressfull as it was, and as many naked people as we saw, I think it gave everyone a chance to talk and i think everyone was getting along really well by the end of it, we were all nackered coming back though! I think that going out and meeting new people is as much part of uni life as the work is. Obviously I need to find a healthy balance between the two, which i have managed to do so far! I have discovered student nights on a thursday! money (or lack of it) will prevent me from going out alot.
So a summary of the first 2 weeks, its taken a while for the course to get going with things, but im happy now we have finally started to do what we are there for! Bring it on!! xxxxx
